Maitha Alkatheeri
welcome to my E-profolio
Goal 2
Description
Justification
First, it will help me to integrate all subjects with different outcomes together, which help the student to learn more than one thing at the same time.
Second, linking outcomes to the theme help children to make sense of the things, places and people in their world, investigating, questioning, and forming (The Early Childhood Curriculum Framework, n.d).
Third, help the children to learn about the world around them for example, society, culture, environment and family. For example, all about me theme, they can learn about their body parts and the numbers at the same time (two eyes, five fingers, one noise).
Fourth, help the child explore the knowledge by him/her self from the theme.
Goal 2
Linking outcomes to the theme in centers time
Teaching Practice Competency
Planning for Learning - Implementing Learning
Action
At the beginning of each new theme,
I will sit with my MST and we will plan for each week by making suitable activities that connect with a theme and the outcomes.
Weekly
Support needed
I need to work with my MST and the Arabic teacher to choose the activities and create new Ideas.
I will search by use Pintrest to find many ideas
Observe other teachers
See ADEC curriculum and take some ideas
How will you provide evidence of the success of the action
Pictures and videos of the activities , reflections, teacher comments, students’ works, lesson plans, MCT comments

Evidence 1
Description:
These examples some of my lesson plans. The first picture I linked the math center (counting activity) and art center to (plants and animals) theme.
The other picture, I linked the math center (counting activity) and art center to (community helpers) theme.
Effective on learning:
It helped me to prepared the activities before the lesson. In addition It helped me to create different types of activities and create new ideas.
Evidence 2
Description:
These some examples of my activities which I linked ADEC outcomes to the theme. The first two pictures is writing activities related to different themes (community helpers) and (weather theme). While the third picture is about sounds of the letters and I used it for a focus group (community helpers) theme. And the fourth picture is about cvc words in art center (plants and animals) theme , the final picture is about counting activity in math center and link to (community helpers theme) .
Effective on learning:
It helped me to involve the students in learning process. Furthermore, it helped me to integrate the subjects for example, teaching them English, math and science at the same time under one theme. With more exposure to the vocabulary and learning concepts, the students showed that they could apply their learning across different domains/areas. The transfer of learning is an important skills to develop throughout our life in general. This helped the students to learn different things at the same time and understand the world around them, a point which Piaget (McLeod, 2015) identified when he emphasized the engagement of students to develop their overall improvement. I saw that the students became more proficient with their language.

Evidence 3
Description :
This example from my reflection that I wrote it after MCT observation. I wrote in my strength area that I linked the outcome to the theme
Effective on learning:
This remind me to always link learning between the theme and the outcomes. As I continued to develop my planning throughout my final semester, this became easier for me. Feedback from my mentors was a boost to my confidence and I love searching for new ideas. I saw the positive effect that this approach had with my students, so I became even more determined to recreate the learning ‘buzz’ that I had integrated into my classroom.
